About Phyllis

Dr. Phyllis Parker Webb, native of Elkin, NC, is the daughter of the late Dr. Clyde Parker and Ernstena Parker [Wood] and began her music ministry career in 1978. After majoring in Art Education at Indiana Wesleyan University, she joined Derric Johnson’s RèGeneration, singing over 500 concert dates, annually. Re’Generation performed for many presidents, noted personalities and pastors. Phyllis sang the high soprano for the group for five years until the Walt Disney Company bought the group as full time in-house artists at the grand opening of the EPCOT Center. While performing five days a week at Disney World, she would travel to various corporate and Christian conventions every weekend. After one year at Disney World, Phyllis returned to full-time touring music ministry and married Rick Webb, also a former vocalist/stage director for RèGeneration.

In the mid 1980’s, Phyllis became soprano vocalist for the Radio Bible Class’ Day of Discovery Broadcast based out of Grand Rapids, MI. For nearly 10 years, Phyllis toured across North America and Europe taping numerous episodes of the popular Christian program. While also performing as a Discovery vocalist, she would sing various dates with husband Rick in church settings on various occasions. After Phyllis’ time with the Radio Bible Class, she and husband Rick, added a third vocal part to their music ministry, forming the Rick Webb Trio in 1997. This afforded The Webb’s ministry opportunities with some of Christian music’s most recognizable names, in many new performance settings. While traveling with the trio full-time, Phyllis returned to one of her many passions - painting and sculpture.

Following the resignation of the trio’s third vocalist and dear friend, Leslie Hipps, Phyllis and Rick were joined on stage by their son Parker and daughter Hannah to form the now Rick Webb Family. In 2012 Phyllis was presented an honorary doctorate degree from Laurel University, for her many years of experience and devotion to the Christian/Gospel Music Industry. Through her many talents and gifts, Phyllis has remained constant in one goal - Jesus is the center of all she does. On October 28, 2016 Phyllis was awarded the Order of the Long Leaf Pine Award from Governor Pat McCrory for her 40 years of service to ministry and to her state of North Carolina. In 2022, she was alumnus of the year at Wesleyan Christian Academy in High Point, NC.
